Home MTC

So...this experience has it's Pros and Cons.  It was great for David to experience what it was going to be like when he gets to the Provo MTC but, it was not fun for him because he was alone all day and Satan is working overtime on these kids to make them feel all sorts of emotions.  Lost, behind, confused, sad, inadequate, all the feels.  Since he is the baby if our family no one was home during his breaks to talk to, no TV to watch, just him and his thoughts. So Satan took advantage those first 3 days.  But, then David asked Joel for a blessing and it changed everything. He started to excel and started to really enjoy it. Before he knew it time was up and we were on our way to Provo.

We went up to Lehi the night before so he could say his goodbye's to everyone. Then the next morning we went to Denny's for lunch with Shayne, Konnor, Gideon, Aria, Sophie, Josh and Kenna. Then we went to the Orem Temple to take some pictures.  After that we all piled into Shayne's van and drove to the MTC. It was a full van! Josh sat in the very back with David's luggage. We looked like a circus car when we pulled up and all came out. It was pretty funny. Cute Elder Waggoner was there to help David with his luggage.  David gave me a hug and then turned to give Josh a hug and Josh was already crying! Dang you Josh! Then everyone teared up. It was all good. No big sobs though until...we loaded back up and started to drive back to the Orem Temple to get back in our own vehicles and you could hear Josh sobbing in the back. It was sad.  The first half hour in our car by ourselves Joel didn't say a single word because he was right on the edge of tears. The next day at school everyone asked me how I was doing and I was fine but when they asked Joel he teared up. Apparently he broke down to Mr. Gifford, our principal.  It has been a difficult week. But everything will be fine.
