Im alive pt. 2

This was the first picture we got.  David at the gym! We knew he was going to be fine!

Wassup yall, I made it to the Philippines!!

First off, this place is crazy. It still doesn’t feel real!

Travel-
We left the MTC last Tuesday around noon and took the bus to the train station that took us to the airport. We had about an 4 hour layover in Salt Lake so we ate some real food and played games and then took our flight to LAX. I just slept the whole time 💀. Then we were almost late for our flight to Manila because the line was crazy long and they kept having problems. Eventually made it through though. That flight was crazy the plane was massive and they fed us throughout the flight it was dope. Slept again but woke up still on the plane lol.

Philippines-
Landed in the Philippines around 4 A.M Manila time and we took pictures and said our goodbyes to our District mates going to different missions which was sad but also a great feeling knowing they are doing God’s work. Then took a bus with the 17 of us going to San Pablo. It was 2 hours long and I slept for most of it. Arrived at the mission home and there was a batch of native trainersthere so our amazing Mission President and his wife arranged an overnight stay for us so we could catch up on sleep. They even gave us w hours to take a nap then we had our meeting with Pres. Scholl. Took my first bucket shower which was dope.

Orientation-
Slept and the next day we met our trainers and had orientation. There's a dope island in our mission called Marinduque which every missionary wants to go to and there was one trainer going there so everyone was hyped. He's a massive poly who plays rugby and he was supposed to have a native comp but somehow got stuck with me 🤣. Elder Pogai. About 6’4 280. Massive Samoan from New Zealand. I guess God knows me personally or sum like that.

Marinduque-
This place is dope! It was a 2 day trip to get here 3 hours from San Pablo and a 3 hour boat ride. We are in the Boac area. Got here Saturday unpacked and had FHE that night. It went just how Sister Alves said it would go. Hymn, Lesson, Games, Food. The branch President made me conduct so I used all of the Tagalog I know. Then went back to our tiny apartment. The next day Sunday we got to bless the sacrament and introduce ourselves so that was fun. Besides that i understood very little Tagalog 👍. Patience is key. Then we went on a bike ride and did weekly planning.

The people here are the absolute best. The kids just keep staring at me and giving me high fives and laughing. Definitely a humbling experience but it's totally worth it because these people deserve to know about His Gospel.

Love yall so much! Have a great week!
