Time Travel to the Philippines

He made it!  I can't wait until Sunday night to hear how it really went and all the adventures it took to get them all there.  But, this much I know...They left around 11:30 on a bus to the Trax Station where they got on in Provo and went straight up to the airport.  Sophie jumped on in Lehi and travelled with them all.  She took him some Pumpkin Chocolate Chip cookies.

They got up to airport, checked in their luggage, and went through security without any problems that I know of.  They had until 6pm to eat and play some games.  I sent a mini Bop-It, Simon and some UNO Cards for them to play while they waited.  They all got on without any problems and flew to LAX.  This is where it all gets sketchy...

Apparently, we all forgot to tell them that they just needed to go straight to their new gate, because they somehow went out, maybe got lost, maybe thought they had to pick up their luggage?  I do not know. However, they ended up having to go back through security and they did not have time.  They all scrabbled through and one of the sisters forgot to empty her water bottle.  Luckily the Lord is in charge and the flight was delayed 45 minutes.  They were able to make it onto the plane that was going directly to Manila!  It is a 14 hour flight!  And they arrived 45 minutes early which put them exactly back on schedule.  The Lord knew that they then needed to board a bus and drive 3 hours and 15 minutes to San Pablo where the wonderful Bro and Sister Scholls were waiting for them. It was only 40 miles away, as the crow flies. But, still took them over 3 hours!  We are such a spoiled country. What luxury we have to be able to travel 40 miles on a nice freeway and get to where we need to be in a half an hour.  AND, because of the time changes they completely missed Wednesday and got there Thursday afternoon!!

A super nice mom was in the airport and took this picture for us.

Besides these 12 AMAZING missionaries, there were 22 more that arrived with them. 34 new missionaries to San Pablo!

David truly loves this district.  These 12 will do incredible miracles in the Philippines!  And yesterday  we got this great message from Sister Scholl...

And tonight we got this...

Like I said, it will be nice to hear the rest of the story.  I'm sure his email will tell all. We are so excited for them all and so proud of David and his decision to serve the people of the Philippines!
